    • Exciting things to do before or after consuming cannabis

The legalization of cannabis within Colorado has opened up a whole new world of related events, attractions, and things to do. While the laws in Colorado Springs differ somewhat from the rest of the state, it’s still an exciting, beautiful place to visit. So, whether you’re just passing through or you live in the area, make sure to read our guide to the best cannabis things to do in the area below.

A Quick Note About Cannabis in Colorado Springs

The state of Colorado legalized recreational cannabis use throughout the state beginning in 2014. However, in 2017, Colorado Springs voted to stop recreational cannabis sales in the city. So, while there are medical cannabis dispensaries currently open and operating, there are no recreational dispensaries within the city limits.

Cannabis consumers over the age of 21 can legally purchase recreational cannabis elsewhere in the state and consume it within Colorado Springs as long as they do so privately and on their own property. Regardless of whether it’s recreational or medical, cannabis use is not allowed in public or outdoor places, on federal lands, and before or during the operation of a vehicle.

These local laws tend to be strictly enforced. If you’re unsure whether your use of cannabis is legal in the particular part of the state where you currently are, it’s best to check with law or legal resources before consuming.

The Best Cannabis Things to Do in Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs offers several cannabis-specific events and fun things to do. Below are just a few of our favorites.

Cannabis-Friendly Paint Class

Cannabis is known to spark your creativity. What better way to put that to the test than with a cannabis-friendly paint class? The Painter’s Pot offers classes throughout the week you can consume cannabis while indulging your artistic spirit. Class sizes are capped at 8 people to ensure the instructor can give each participant individual attention.

Reservations are required, and you can make reservations for that night’s class until four hours before the class begins. If you miss that night’s reservation window, you can still try again the next night as there are classes every day of the week.

Cannabis Social Clubs and Lounges

Outside of Denver, Colorado Springs is the only city in the state to offer legal social cannabis consumption outside at clubs or lounges. These social lounges all have requirements that must be met, such as being at least 21 years old. In some cases, too, smoking cannabis is prohibited while vaping or dabbing is allowed. It’s best to check with each club or lounge to determine their specific rules.

Visiting a social lounge can be a great way to meet new people while partaking in legal cannabis use. These clubs also put on events like live music, typical bar games, and stand-up comedy.

Secret Stash Yoga

Infusing yoga with cannabis can make you more limber physically and mentally. So, it’s no wonder that Secret Stash Yoga has found a way to combine the two into a unique experience that leaves participants wanting to come back week after week.

They currently offer weekly cannabis-friendly workshops every Sunday in downtown Colorado Springs. If that time doesn’t work for you, they’re also available for a private or group session. Workshops are perfect for beginners and yoga veterans alike.

Best Things to Do Before or After Consuming Cannabis

Beyond events that specifically cater to cannabis consumers, there are a variety of options for those looking to have fun before or after consuming.
